Eleanor teaches and writes for those interested in following the truth of their own souls (inclusive of facts and scientific evidence.)

She is an RYT 200 certified vinyasa flow and yin yoga teacher (Breathe Yoga Center, Norfolk, Va.) and studies Insight Meditation with Gordon Peerman, D.Min., in Nashville. She has trained in Presence-Based Coaching with Doug Silsbee, PCC, women’s personal growth, and contemplative spiritual practice. She grew up the youngest of five daughters in Newport News, Virginia, and holds a B.A. from Northwestern University. She completed one year of study towards a Master of Theological Studies degree at Vanderbilt Divinity School.

Eleanor leads Soul Care workshops combining yin yoga, meditation, and heart-centered inquiry. She taught previously at  St. Augustine’s Chapel in Nashville and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Va. Eleanor has led workshops in Richmond, Va. for WomanKind, St. James’ Episcopal Church, the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, St. Michael’s Job Assistance Ministry, and Floricane Consulting’s “Next Steps” Program. She has led women’s circles on embodied spirituality and coached adolescent girls from low-income neighborhoods to believe in their own worth.

Eleanor has also raised more than $7.5M for girls’ empowerment, community building and poverty alleviation. She served as Executive Director of Higher Achievement in Richmond leading the local expansion of the college-readiness program for at-risk middle school students. Prior to Higher Achievement, she was the National Development Director for Girls For A Change teaching girls in low-income neighborhoods to lead social change projects in their own communities. Eleanor launched both the Phoenix and Richmond affiliates for Girls For A Change. Working part-time during her son’s early years, she helped raise $700K in new grant income for the United Way of South Hampton Roads’ anti-poverty intiatives serving children and families in Norfolk’s public housing neighborhoods. She is currently helping Small World Yoga raise funding to expand its yoga outreach programming to underserved populations, and has assisted the Nashville Ballet, Richmond Cycling Corps, and her son’s Title I public school in their fundraising efforts.

Eleanor has lived all over the United States and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and young son. They plan to move home to Virginia in summer 2018 (and she can’t wait!)
